I am writing on behalf of the members of the Fraternal Order of Police to advise you of our strong support for the nomination of Aurelia Skipwith to be the next Director of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
Ms. Skipwith currently serves as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks in the U.S. Department of the Interior, where her team is responsible for ensuring the protection and stewardship of lands and waters within the national park and wildlife refuge systems. In her role, she has worked with the thousands of officers of the United States Park Police officers as well as the United States Fish and Wildlife Service’s Office of Law Enforcement.
The first African American to ever be nominated to the position; Ms. Skipwith earned her B.S. in biology from Howard University, a M.S. in molecular biology from Purdue University, and her J.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
We believe that President Trump has made an excellent choice for his nomination of Aurelia Skipwith to be the next Director of the United States Fish and Wildlife Service. Given her experience as an attorney in the private and public sectors, I am confident that Ms. Skipwith will lead the agency with honor and integrity, working diligently to enforce the laws of the United States. We urge the committee to favorably report her nomination to the Senate floor.
